PARISH COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 4, 2021
This Thursday, March 4 at 6:00 the Parish Council meets and will hear our appeal on the rezoning for the property on Carroll Road. The two petitions referable to the Bayou Bend Project are listed on the agenda as:
2020-2057-ZC and 2020-2058-ZC.
In addition to the emails, letters and phone calls made by the BLA Board and membership, we trekked door-to-door in the nearby community and collected more than 400 individual letters from residents who also oppose the rezoning. We assembled binders for each Parish Council Member providing them copies of all emails, letters and supporting documentation detailing our reasons for opposing the rezoning. The binders were delivered to the Council Office last week allowing ample time for Council Members to review everything prior to the meeting this Thursday.
Please continue to call, email or contact every parish council member. Since the parcel lies in District 12, Jerry Binder’s support for overturning the Zoning Commission’s vote is crucial. Other parish council members will seek Binder’s opinion prior to casting their vote.
Anyone capable of attending the meeting on Thursday night is encouraged to do so. Ours is the only appeal on the docket, so we should be heard directly after the consent calendar is approved. Hopefully that occurs early in the evening.
Full COVID-19 measures will be enforced. We may be asked to wait outside the Chambers until our appeal is heard. Bring a chair if you like.

If unable to attend the meeting, your voice remains important. You may go to www.stpgov.org and near the bottom of the home page on the far-right side is a link for “Access TV Live”. That link will bring you to the video meeting. On the right side of the screen will find the meeting number and the password. Several phone numbers are listed, and any should allow access for your call-in. If you do this, please state you are asking the Council to OVERTURN the Zoning Commission’s approval of 2020-2057-ZC and 2020-2058-ZC. The links will start at 6:00 PM. Therefore, the earlier you make the call, the better. Your message must be completed prior to the council vote. Feel free to share this call-in information with family and friends who are unable to attend the meeting.
